Venturing into the Influenster Community

I first heard about Influenster through Savealoonie, a Canadian coupon and giveaway site. People had been commenting about how fun the community was and the great opportunities for trying new products so I decided to sign up. I've been a part of community since February 2014. I've submitted tons of reviews and answered tons of questions, even got some great advice for choosing my next undereye concealer! It's a great place for sharing your opinions and learning about what others think of products you want to try out. They cover a wide range of products from beauty to entertainment, food and outdoors and exercise equipment! I had slowly raised my influenster score (based on your participation in the community and your influence points - what social media you connect to and how large your following is) and was waiting with bated breath for my first invitation to participate in the all powerful VoxBox. A box of products sent to a number of community members in order to try and review an assortment of products.

I finally got my very first invitation! I received an email containing a preliminary survey which I completed and a week later I found that I was selected to get a VoxBox! I had qualified for the ImPress Canadian VoxBox which contained two sets of Broadway ImPress press on nails! I received a lovely bright pink set and a nude colored set overlayed with a black lace pattern, very pretty.

I received the colors Holla! (D030) and Control Freak (130) in my ImPress Manicure Canadian VoxBox from Influenster

I really loved the lace patterned nails so I decided to give them first go. The packaging is super cute. There are 24 nails in 12 different sizes available to fir a variety of nails and they come in an adorable resealable container in the shape of a nail polish bottle. You first set out which size nails best fit you then clean your nail surface using the provided prep pad. Apply each nail by first removing the protective layer then aligning the bottom with your cuticle and pressing firmly for several seconds to allow the adhesive to set. It recommends leaving your thumbs for last and I wholeheartedly encourage you to follow this as I forgot, which made applying the nails to my second hand a bit difficult. That's what instructions are for right??

The nails come in an adorable reusable container. How cute is this??

I laid out all of my nails in order before prepping. Make things as easy as possible!
The whole process took me about 5 minutes and the end result was very impressive! It looked great! The only issue I had was that the nails were a bit long for my liking. I use my hand a lot during the day and I found it a bit more difficult to type on my laptop with the nails at their original length. The instructions don't include any tips for shortening the nails once they are applied but I DID  find a tutorial on YouTube from Broadway Nails explaining the process! Super helpful!

So overall I'd have to give this manicure kit an B (downgraded from an A). It's far less expensive than getting a professional manicure and it's going to last a lot longer than if I had just painted my nails. It's a rare day when I don't ruin my nails the day or day after I paint them. Plus I would never be able to give myself such a beautiful print using paint. I'm not going to lie. I'm not a talented nail artist. This product is for those of us that love nail art but haven't really mastered it. I definitely recommend this and I'll definitely be trying it again! I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled to see what other patterns I can find at my local drug store :)

Final results. I love the pattern! I really hope they last a long time or I'll have to go out and buy more ;)
So what do you think? Have you tried these nails out for yourself? Or do you think you might like to? Have you tried any other press on nails? I'd love to know so leave me a comment below!

UPDATE! Not 24 hours from the initial application I had a shower and shortly after lost two of the nails. A little disappointed. As this was my first time perhaps I didn't properly set them or left a gap near the cuticle in which water could leak it's way between the press-on and my nail. One upside of this kit is that it comes with 24 nails which means if you're lucky there might be an extra or two in there that will still fit if a nail or two happens to come off. In fact it's pretty easy to trim the nails with a sharp pair of scissors if there's a set that's too wide for a particular nail. I've reapplied two new nails where I lost the originals and all is well! Still a bit disappointed in the staying power considering they are advertised as lasting "up to a week" but we'll see.

*please note that I received this product free of charge from Broadway Nails and Influenster. I am not being reimbursed for providing this review, I only share my opinion so that you might be better informed! Thanks for reading!
